We have built all sorts of robotic machines that are installed in factories.  These robots have been programmed to build other machines such as automobiles.  A programmer had to spend hundreds or even thousands of hours developing and testing the code to make these systems work properly.  Evolution teaches that once upon a time there were living things, that had no lungs.  At that time DNA information code for lung manufacturing did not exist since lungs hadn't "evolved" yet.  I was just wondering... Who wrote this program?

Criminal Lawyer is redundant.

A doctor and a lawyer in two cars collided on a country road.  The lawyer, seeing

that the doctor was rather shaken up, helped him from the car and offered him a

drink from his hip flask.  The doctor accepted and handed the flask back to the

lawyer, who closed it and put it away.  “Aren’t you going to have a drink yourself?”

asked the doctor.  “Sure, after the police leave.” replied the attorney.

Should a convicted murderer be allowed to become a Lawyer?

A controversy occurred recently in my town when a convicted murderer

(who spent his time in prison and was paroled) wanted the bar to recognize

him as an attorney.  Many local radio talk show hosts said he should not even

be considered.  They ranted that his past deeds disqualified him because he

was not of sufficient moral character.  One in particular (who is Jewish) was

very out spoken concerning the issue.  I wonder if it ever dawned on him

that Moses was a murderer and yet God chose him to become the greatest

law-giver and arguably the most effective attorney (in the courts of Pharaoh)

who ever lived?  Certainly God is full of mercy and grace to those who will

turn to Him with a humble heart.  He opposes the proud.

America is mentioned in the Bible

They shall be lovers of themselves rather than lovers of God.

They parade their sin like Sodom.

They have left the straight way.

These dreamers pollute their own bodies.
The love of many will turn cold.

They are experts in greed.

The merchants of the earth grew rich from her excessive luxuries.

Lawsuits spring up like poisonous weeds.

Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.

They deliberately forget that... God created the Heavens and the Earth.

If the right waited for the left to realize the right was right

there'd be no one left to realize the left was wrong, right?

Now this is a bumper sticker you won't see on a BMW parked behind

an abortion clinic, but it might be interesting to slap one on the "doctor's"

ride when he isn't looking.

If scientists sent a probe to Mars and found the remains of a fetus, would

they still insist that it doesn't represent life?  Would they still feel it was

something they could just throw in the trash and forget about?  Of course

not.  They would treat it like the greatest discovery of all time.  It would

be cherished and protected more than any Moon rock had ever been. 

If there was any chance to revive it they would spend billions to do so.

The celebration over the expected increase in funding would have no end.

Meanwhile back on Earth, mothers would still be spending money to get rid of

such a thing.  Life would still be so devalued that they would think nothing of

depositing it in the nearest dumpster.  I believe that if there is any intelligent

life out there, they would be smart enough not to come here.

If evolutionists are so sure that intelligent design is just a pseudoscientific

disguise for creationism, why don't they try presenting real scientific facts

to dispute it instead of resorting to childish name calling?

Better yet, why don't they at least try to present "real", provable scientific

"facts" to explain how even single celled creatures could evolve by chance.

Am I the only one that realizes that creatures have not changed in any

significant way as far back as we can examine?  Mutations are almost never

passed on to ones off-spring.  The DNA of crocodiles has not changed at all.

How dare they say that information science is not real science.  I object!

What are they going to say next?  That mathematics and archaeology are

not scientific either?  These same "intelligent scientists" would declare it to be

absolute proof of intelligent design if they received a signal from outer space

saying something as simple as "roses are red".  And in fact it would!

Do they really expect us to believe that the exceedingly more information rich

DNA code does not reveal intelligence and simply happened by chance?

The average man's life consists of 20 years of his mother asking him where

he's going, 40 years of his wife asking the same question; and in the end

the mourners wondering too.

For every 30 minutes of strenuous exercise you can expect to add 10 minutes to your life.

In addition, the 10 minute gain is added to the end of your life. That is, at a time when you are so old you find yourself wishing you weren’t going to live any longer anyhow.

Maybe having sex is a good way to beat the system?

You get your exercise and have fun at the same time!

Just make sure you enjoy it in a monogamous relationship so you don't kill

yourself by catching some nasty sexually transmitted disease.

But even then you are still adding time to your end of your life so you have to

endure old age just that much longer - usually without the sex.

I guess you just can’t win.

I suspect that one of the reasons that Pharaoh was having the male Hebrew

children put to death (Exodus 1) was because he was under Satan's control.

Satan probably knew a "redeemer" was coming and was trying to prevent

him (Moses) from being born.  The same thing happened when Jesus was born.

You may recall how Satan had his man Herod slaughter all the babies in and around

Bethlehem that were two years old or younger.  It is obvious that Satan would

have destroyed God's redeemer if he could have.

Here we are 2000 years later...

If we are, as I and many others believe, in the last days then that means that the

antichrist will be born in this era.  He will be Satan's "christ".  So why would

Satan be killing babies right and left through mass abortion?  What if the antichrist

was "accidentally" aborted?  Wouldn't that ruin his evil plan?  Could it be that Satan

knows the antichrist was already born and is waiting in the wings to be called on stage?

If the antichrist was born just prior to Roe vs Wade he would be about the same

age today as Jesus was when he started His ministry. 

Jesus said, "I have come in my Father's name, and you do not accept me;

but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him."

Sometimes a person needs to have their heart broken before

they will realize they need a new one.

That is exactly what Jesus was trying to do for us when

He died for us on the cross.

Do you realize that all the good works you do to try to get into Heaven are actually sin?  They all are done with a motivation of pride or selfishness.

    (what is not done of the Spirit is sin)

Only the good works you do after you are born again count for anything.

You can't do enough good works to earn you way into heaven, but thank God you don't have to do any good works to get there.  Nor can you do so many "bad" works that God cannot forgive you.  (the thief on the cross could do none before he died)

How can I say such a thing?  Well, for one thing he lived around 700 A.D. and the age of the prophets was over long before Jesus was born.

Hebrews 1

Do you see a recurring theme here?

So now I ask again.  Who is Allah?

II Corinthians 11:13-15  For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, masquerading as apostles of Christ.  And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.  It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness.  Their end will be what their actions deserve.

So if God is God and there is no other, who is it that muslims are praying to - 5 times a day?

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 10:30  [Jesus said,]  "I and the Father are one"

The Quran says: (4:171) The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only the Messenger of God, and His Word that He committed to Mary, and a Spirit from Him. So believe in God and His Messengers, and say not, 'Three.' Refrain; better is it for you. God is only one God. Glory be to Him - He is above having a son." and also in (112)  He is God the One God, the Everlasting Refuge, who has not begotten, nor has been begotten, and equal to Him is not anyone."

These can't both be true.

These declarations make the two belief systems totally irreconcilable.

I believe that a show down is just on the horizon.  We are going to find out whose God is God. 

Would any muslim ever say that the God is Israel is the same as their god?

Would any born again Christian give up Jesus to become a muslim?

The Bible is depressing?

Dark? Dreary?  God sends his son to tell us how much He loves us.  We kick his butt and try to snuff him out.  God could have said, "To Hell with ya." and flushed his book down the nearest well where only "Timmy" could find it.  But instead he preserved it down through the ages so we could all find out how much He loved us and could get our butts saved.  Dark?  Dreary?  That's not dark and dreary.  Rejoice!

John 1:5  In the beginning was the Word [Jesus], and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.

Today I read the latest "bash on Bush" concerning his statement about the creation/evolution high school curriculum debate.  Liberals were ranting: "How dare he suggest that intelligent design [an obvious cover for religion] be presented along side evolution [100% scientifically proven] in our schools!"  I thought to myself, "My how they still hate him."      Who?     Bush?     No, Jesus.

Gosh, it sounds like the man is actually expecting God to tell him what to do, and how and when to do it. 

He wants God to be his guide?  He must be some kind of a kook.  Doesn't he believe in separation of church and state?  Why he even calls Jesus his Lord - twice!

Even if we did have a constitutional separation of church and state, (which we don't)

that would not mean there is a mandated separation of God and state.

Suppose God has been creating various scenarios and living out the battle of good against evil many times in the past; possibly for eternity?  Maybe He has been putting the devil in his place over and over again for eons.  Amassing proof that the power of love beats the love of power every time.  The Bible does say God is going to destroy the Earth someday and create a new Heaven and Earth.  Would this be to simply launch our eternity or maybe it will be to start a new war all over again?  Ask yourself, what would you do to occupy your time if you lived forever?  Could it be that God will continue to press "reset" and start over forever?  Has God done this over and over through eternity past?  Could it be that Adam and Eve where simply the beginning of "this" episode of a series of wars?  (Maybe Satan is a slow learner)  What if the our recorded history is not the first attempt at dispelling evil?  What if we are merely "Preparation H"?

Ok, do I really believe this thought represents reality?  The truth is I have no idea.  The only way we can learn anything supernatural is if God tells us.  We cannot know anymore than He chooses to reveal.  The human mind loves to speculate.  We were wired that way.  Just don't let your imaginations become dogma. 

I do not see any evidence in the Bible that the above "theory" is even implied.  We do not learn spiritual truth through meditation, séances, quija boards, fortune tellers, sorcery, scientific investigation, witchcraft, horoscopes, the occult or by taking mind altering drugs.  In fact, we are specifically told to stay away from all such things.  God reserves the right to keep His mysteries to himself or to share them with those He chooses.  (Usually that includes anyone who will ask)  He does promise to reveal himself to those who will diligently seek Him.  He does not dish it out all at once.  No loving parent would teach their child things they were not ready to handle.  Father truly does know best.

Doing good works before you are saved is "gold digging".

Doing good works after you are saved is "gratitude".

My wife says she's noticed that I think up most of this stuff when I first

wake up in the morning.  So now, I'm not allowed to do that anymore.

Salvation is a free gift.  If I gave you a watch for your birthday and you said "Here, let me pay you for that."  I would be offended.  On the other hand, if after you received it you where so thankful (after all it was a Rolex) that you said you would like to do something nice for me in return that would be good.  Likewise, doing good works before salvation (to get God to give you the gift) is kind of sickening to God because what you are really doing is trying to suck up to Him.  However, good works done after receiving salvation are not only nice, but they are a reasonable response to such a wonderful gift. 

We love our kids, but would we really want them to have to earn our love?  Would that kind of forced love even be desirable?  Shouldn't we love each of them the same regardless of behavior?  Would it be right for a parent to withhold love to get a child to perform?  Only love given with no strings attached is a desirable kind of love.  Or imagine being in a relationship with someone who thinks you should love them because they are so "special"... yuck!

Remember the story about the gift of the Maggi?  She cut her hair and sold it to get him a golden watch chain for his pocket watch.  He sold his pocket watch to get her golden clips for her hair.  The sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross was like that.  It was a personal sacrifice.  It cost him a lot to give it.  That is how we know it was a gift of real love.  As such, we can see it was actually designed to spark a response in us to want to love him in return.  He does not love us because we are so worthy but rather because we aren't.  "For even while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

It is easy to give a trinket gift, bought at the spur of the moment with some pocket change.  How much more special a gift is when it actually costs the giver dearly.

If homosexuality is genetic there would be no homosexuals.  The last I heard the sex practices they engage in do not result in reproduction.  If a person ever had been truly "born that way" they would have been the last of their breed.  God never condemns anyone for a birth defect.  It is not a sin to be born blind.  That is how we know that this "life style" is a choice.

Less than 10% of the population is homosexual...

Perversion:  n.  an aberrant sexual practice especially when habitual and preferred to normal coitus

Aberrant: adj. Deviating from what is normal; untrue to type.

Abnormal: adj. Not typical, usual, or regular; not normal; deviant.

Unnatural: adj.  Deviating from a behavioral or social norm.

Immoral: adj.  contrary to standards of what is right or just in behavior.

Is it legal to yell "fire" in a crowded theater?

An interesting test of what is "good" is to ask, "What if everyone did it?".

Ex.  If everyone practiced homosexuality; that would be the last generation.

Those who say we should not impose our morality on others ignore the fact that every law imposes someone's morality on others and to suppress "bad" behavior.

If a Bible principle is "good" what's wrong with making it a law?

Is it wrong to pass a good law simply because it coincides with a Bible principle?

If so, you better take the laws against murder and a host of others off the books.

Getting a tattoo or putting on body piercing is like hanging out a sign that says,

"I'm available; take me.  Do as you will.  I'll do anything!"  And Satan says, "OK."

I hear you are very proud that England has become so progressive and has approved gay marriage.  Have you not heard that pride comes before a fall?  Did England learn nothing from the demise of the Empire on which the Sun never sets?  Or does England think that turning it's back on God had nothing to do with God turning it into a 3rd rate power?  I can imagine the mayor having a similar reaction when gay marriage was approved in Sodom.  At one time I thought I heard you were a Christian.  I guess not.

It doesn't matter if intelligent design is scientific or religious.  The real question is whether it is true or not.  The evidence is overwhelming that it is in fact true and that evolution is not even possible.  At the very least intelligent design deserves to be evaluated with an open mind.

You've got two "trees".  The evolutionary tree with its trunk and many concocted branches vs the tree of life in the Garden of Eden; which God planted (and, by the way, was not forbidden for Adam and Eve to eat from and obtain eternal life). 

Evolutionist never try to explain where the roots and the trunk of "their" tree came from.  Where did the seed come from that grew their tree?  Since information does not occur spontaneously, that seed would have had to have all the genetic data to make the entire tree and all its "branches" (representing millions and millions of unique creatures and plants) built into it when it was planted.  So who planted it?  Who made the soil in which it would germinate and grow? 

I think evolutionist are barking up the wrong tree.  But then they have not "evolved" much beyond the canine, so that is not surprising.  They don't even believe that the study of Information Science is real science!  I guess they slept through the biology class that talked about all the trillions of bits of information stored in the DNA molecule.  What came first the trees (plants etc.) or animals?  Since animals breath in oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide and trees and plants take in carbon dioxide and "exhale" oxygen, they both would have had to exist from the beginning.  Otherwise the balance of gases in the atmosphere would have soon become lethal to which ever one the evolutionists believe came first. 

The Bible says God created them both in the first week.  That is the only way the whole system could get up and running since everything is so interconnected and dependant on each other.

If the apostle Paul was still alive, he'd be spinning in his grave when he saw how far

the church has drifted from the truth and what little impact it has had on the world.

When Messiah comes

Luke chapter 7:18-22 John's disciples told him about all these things.  [the miracles Jesus was doing] Calling two of them, he sent them to the Lord to ask, "Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?"

    When the men came to Jesus, they said, "John the Baptist sent us to you to ask, 'Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?' "

    At that very time Jesus cured many who had diseases, sicknesses and evil spirits, and gave sight to many who were blind.  So he replied to the messengers, "Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.

Here we see Jesus pointing out some of the miracles He had done and presenting them as evidence to validate that He was the promised Messiah.  (see Isaiah 35:5-6)  These astounding abilities were to be the hallmark of the "One" that God would send to save the world and were to be a sign that the kingdom of God had finally arrived.  It was assumed that only God could do such incredible things.  The Jews had every reason to believe that anyone who could do them must be the Messiah.  But the prophecies in the Bible often have two fulfillments or dual meanings.  Today we see that these same "miracles" are again being done.  Not by the power of God, but rather by the ingenuity of scientists and bio-tech engineers.  Some of these "miracles" are already a reality and some are on the verge of becoming so.  To date they have been able to help the lame to walk and cure many diseases.  Even the deaf are being given the capability to hear again.  Soon they will be able to repair lost vision (in some cases they can do this now) and even raise the dead.  (CPR & defibrillators?)  Could this be the other half of the original prophecy?  When you see these things coming to pass, should you start looking for the Messiah?  Wait a minute... suppose the antichrist uses the power of science rather than the power of the supernatural to perform such feats and then starts claiming to be God?  Will this give the Jews (and many others) the inclination to declare that their "messiah" has come at last?  (Especially when he couples this with his ability to finally bring peace to the middle east when no one else could)  After all, many Jews reject Jesus as the Messiah because he didn't bring about world peace.  Even John the Baptist had his doubts (as shown above) because Jesus wasn't concerned with throwing off the Roman occupation.  However, Jesus knew that their real bondage did not come from Rome, but rather from being a slave to sin.  Jesus brought the world an even better peace.  The peace that comes from being forgiven and having a clean heart that is right with God.  (interesting how Rome is still keeping people in bondage to this day, but that is another story.)  If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed!

This name appears only in the book of Ester.  The similarities between Hamas and Haman are incredible.  Here is what I found:  Haman was elected to a powerful political position and given a place of authority.  He demanded that everyone bow to him and honor him.  He was very angry that he could not get a certain Jew (Mordecai) to pay homage to him.  In his anger he decided that killing this one Jew was not enough to satisfy his hatred so he plotted to kill all the Jews in the land.  (In reality Haman was just a puppet in the hands of Satan who has always wanted to exterminate the Jews)  With the king's approval he sent out orders to execute every Jew; young and old, women and children.  Because he received the kings approval (by trickery) Haman was on a political high thinking he had achieved his hate inspired goal of eliminating the Jews once and for all.  He could almost taste it.  But when Haman tried to strike out at Mordecai, the tables were turned in a sort of poetic justice and his self-centered expectation of recognition and glory was given to Mordecai instead.  In the end his immense hatred for the Jews came back to destroy him.  The very weapon he had built to have a spectacular execution of the one Jew he hated the most (a 75' tall gallows) was used to hang him instead.  In the end we see that God saved the Jews and destroyed their enemies.  Just as He is doing today and will continue to do.  Israel will stand; Hamas will fall.  Pride comes before a fall.

The main problem with man is not that he commits sins,

We must ask God to give us the free, 100% pardon; made available by the sacrifice of Christ in our place on the cross.  (This is what it means, "He died for all.")

1 John 1:9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

2 Corinthians 5:15  ... he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

So we went to war against the terrorist.  We're going to show them who's boss!

In the end this war will lead to Armageddon.  The Bible says if Jesus doesn't come back to put a stop to it, no one will survive.

Never fly on any airline that allows people like you to get on their airplanes.

In fact if the rest of us started to boycott those airlines maybe they would feel the pinch in the pocket book and stop selling tickets to people like you.  Of course since you see nothing wrong with lying, I suppose it would do no good to ask you beforehand if you are an Islamic fascists or if you are planning to blow up the plane.  You would just lie.  That would leave the airlines with just one option - to refuse service to anyone who appears to be of your ethnic descent.  "Profiling?  Oh, that's not fair"  Too bad!!!

I am so sorry, but often times a few spoiled brats ruin it for everyone.  Discriminating against you is certainly not as bad as killing you for not being the same as me.  But that is what terrorist muslims think they are supposed to do.  Eliminate the competition - use bombs if necessary.

I recognize that this battle we are in is not for land or any other physical thing.  It is a spiritual war.  The fascists have launched it to try to show who's god is really God.  Allah and Jehovah are not the same person.  Only one can be the true God and bombs cannot destroy Him.

The muslim problem is they do not follow Jesus - the son of God.  They follow Muhammad.  He taught you to drive your point home and spread your religion using fear and murder.  Jesus taught us to that murder is always wrong and that a better way is to lay down ones life to prove that the true God is a god of love.  Even when Jesus was being attacked by a pack of vicious men and nailed to a cross, he did not fight back.  He alone is the savior of men.  We love him because he first loved us.

The only way to learn the "truth" is to receive Jesus into your heart.  Once you do that His Spirit will guide you into all truth.  Jesus is the one who claimed to be the way, the truth and the life.  If you really want to find the way (to Heaven), know the truth (about reality) and have (eternal) life - you must come to him.  Jesus stated plainly that no one comes to the Father (God) any other way.

A recent editorial concerning two news reporters who were captured by terrorists reminds me of a story from the early days of Christianity when Roman soldiers took 100 believers out into the winter's cold and commanded that they renounce their faith; deny their love for Jesus and bow down to Caesar - or die.  When they refused, the soldiers stripped them naked and forced them stand out in the middle of a frozen lake.  They erected a sign at the edge of the lake that said, "100 fools for Jesus".  Hours passed and not one of them recanted.  The guards watched.  And watched; and watched.  Dawn was coming soon.  Suddenly the Centurion of the guards stood to his feet and without a word drew his sword.  The Christians huddled together.  He then placed his sword on the ground and removed his helmet.  He removed his armor and finally the rest of his clothes.  He walked over to the group of Christians, turned back toward his men and quietly said, "101"

The two news reporters who were kidnapped caved in and faked a conversion to Islam.

Included in the final plague that took place in Egypt was that the first born son of the King (Pharaoh) would die.  Now why would the sins of Pharaoh be brought down on his innocent son?  What did the boy do wrong?  He wasn't the one holding the Hebrews in bondage.  And yet God directed that he should die so the Hebrews could be set free. 

An innocent lamb was also sacrificed to protect the Hebrew families from the wrath of God.  Its blood was splashed on the door posts of their homes in the same positions as the points on the cross of Calvary. 

For us, the innocent lamb of God; the only begotten son, died that we might be set free from our bondage to sin. 

For Pharaoh it was the heart breaking event of having his son perish that finally broke  his pride and made him repent.  God took no joy in allowing this to happen, but He was willing to do whatever was necessary to get his people free.  Even allowing the horrible death of His own son on a cross.  Do you see how God is trying to get through to you?  Will you harden your heart like Pharaoh did or will you let your heart be broken and let the death of God's only son set you free?

Today is the day of salvation.  Seek the Lord while he may be found.

Some young people think they do not have to "get saved" right now because they are still young and have plenty of time to do that later.  They think they have a lot of sinnin' to do first.  But the Bible also says that the Spirit of God will not always strive with man.  A time comes when God no longer draws a person and the free offer of pardon and salvation is revoked.  If you tell God to get lost often enough, eventually He assumes that is your "final answer".  When that happens you have suddenly committed the unpardonable sin.  Then no amount of pleading will change His mind and you can only look forward to eternal separation; confined to the place called Hell.  What should be really frightening is that none of us knows which "refusal" steps us over the line.

Yes, you may feel that you have your whole life ahead of you and "all the time in the world".  But how much time does "the world" still have?  It is like a house of cards.  We could blow it all up tonight.  What should be of even greater concern to you is that no one guarantees you a long life.  One drunk driver, one slip of the wheel, one wrong turn, one stray bullet and your life could be over... just like that. 

Couldn't it be that this "thought" was written just for you?  Don't you think God knew that some day you would read this?

All you have to do is believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. 

Jesus opens a door for you that no man can shut, but when that door gets closed, no man can open it again - ever.

So "Just do it".  While the door is open.  Today is the day of salvation.  Why would you die in your sins?  The price has been paid.  The pardon is being offered.  Only a fool would thumb his nose at such a deal.

In the "usual" second-trimester procedure, "dilation and evacuation" (D&E), the doctor dilates the cervix and then inserts surgical instruments into the uterus and maneuvers them to grab the fetus and pull it back through the cervix and vagina. The fetus is usually ripped apart as it is removed, and the doctor may take 10 to 15 passes to remove it in its entirety.  The procedure that prompted the federal Act and various state statutes, including Nebraska's, is a variation of the standard D&E, and is herein referred to as "intact D&E."  The main difference between the two procedures is that in intact D&E a doctor extracts the fetus intact or largely intact with only a few passes, pulling out its entire body instead of ripping it apart.  In order to allow the head to pass through the cervix, the doctor typically pierces or crushes the skull.

    A "doctor" [ya, right*] often begins the dilation process by inserting osmotic dilators, such as laminaria (sticks of seaweed), into the cervix.  The dilators can be used in combination with drugs, such as misoprostol, that increase dilation.  The resulting amount of dilation is not uniform, and a doctor does not know in advance how an individual patient will respond. In general the longer dilators remain in the cervix, the more it will dilate.  Yet the length of time doctors employ osmotic dilators varies. Some may keep dilators in the cervix for two days, while others use dilators for a day or less.

    After sufficient dilation the surgical operation can commence.  The woman is placed under general anesthesia or conscious sedation.  The doctor, often guided by ultrasound, inserts grasping forceps through the woman's cervix and into the uterus to grab the fetus.  The doctor grips a fetal part with the forceps and pulls it back through the cervix and vagina, continuing to pull even after meeting resistance from the cervix.  The friction causes the fetus to tear apart.  For example, a leg might be ripped off the fetus as it is pulled through the cervix and out of the woman.  The process of evacuating the fetus piece by piece continues until it has been completely removed.  A doctor may make 10 to 15 passes with the forceps to evacuate the fetus in its entirety, though sometimes removal is completed with fewer passes.  Once the fetus has been evacuated, the placenta and any remaining fetal material are suctioned or scraped out of the uterus.  The doctor examines the different parts to ensure the entire fetal body has been removed.

    Some doctors, especially later in the second trimester, may kill the fetus a day or two before performing the surgical evacuation.  They inject digoxin or potassium chloride into the fetus, the umbilical cord, or the amniotic fluid.  Fetal demise may cause contractions and make greater dilation possible.  Once dead, moreover, the fetus' body will soften, and its removal will be easier.

A little immigration reform anyone?

Luke 23:29 For the time will come when you will say, 'Blessed are the barren women, the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed!'

Although the above verse is probably implying that a woman will find it easier to survive in the coming Great Tribulation if she does not have children to worry about, it may also have a double meaning as so many Bible prophecies do.  In light of the fact that today many in the feminist movement are saying that for a woman to be "successful", she would be well advised not to have children.  The responsibilities of raising the little "rug rats" would only hold her back from reaching her full potential.  Others are saying that children are just a burden and a nuisance and childless couples are to be envied.  "Modern" thinking even goes so far as to say it is acceptable to commit what used to be an unthinkable act.  Namely the dismemberment, murder and unceremonious disposal of an unborn, but otherwise viable, human baby.  Consider the following:

"Women who have never had a child are at higher risk for breast cancer because their milk glands are immature and susceptible to carcinogens. After 32 weeks of pregnancy, however - and especially as they fill with milk - the milk glands mature and become resistant to carcinogens. The fewer months a woman is exposed to high estrogen levels throughout her life, and the longer a woman has mature, cancer-resistant milk glands, the less likely she is to get breast cancer. Conversely, the more a woman is exposed to high amounts of estrogen with immature milk glands, the greater her risk to get breast cancer."  - Koinonia House Inc. May, 2007

Implied in the above verse is that even though people will be saying those things, they will be wrong.  We often think we know better than God and can ignore his instructions.  We are always wrong in that regard.

The death of hope results in the hope of death.

The Bible often gives us prophecies that have two parts.  The first part is short term and the second part is to happen in a more distant future.  For example Jesus said the temple that stood in Jerusalem would be torn down and no stone would be left on another.  This happened in 70 A.D. giving credibility to the rest of his prophecies which included the coming tribulation and Christ's second coming.  Now consider this one:  "It is appointed on to man once to die (always fulfilled 100%) and then the judgment."  Which means judgment is every bit as sure as death.  Thank God here is the verse in its entirety:  Hebrews 9:27  Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

Born once?  Die twice.  Born twice?  Die once.

Can a Christian commit all kinds of sins and get away with it?

Atheists love to ask this question.  The short answer is "yes" we can.  The rest of the answer is, "but I no longer want to."  The Bible says when we become born again we are a new creation,  old things have passed away and all things become new.  Paul wrote that when he was a child he did childish things, but when he grew up he put away childish things.

How silly it would be for an adult to do the same a child might do.  Can you picture and adult throwing a tantrum at the mall because he was denied a particular toy?  Can you picture him falling on the floor and kicking his feet?  They would lock him up and throw away the key.  Do you have any desire to pull your dress up over your head in front of guests?

In the same way Christians no longer desire to continue sinning.  The things they once thought brought them pleasure (and were enslaved to) now seem like utter foolishness to them.  Yes, we can sin in anyway we desire.  One Christian minister said, "I sin as much as I want to.  It's just that now I no longer want to."

The bottom line is this: Christ did pay for ALL our sins.  When we accepted that and surrendered our lives to Him we were born again and in the process the former person died.  This dying set us free from the bondage we had to sin.  Read the book of Romans chapter 6 for more details. 

In any event we are always enslaved by the one we obey.  Whether it be bondage to sin that leads to death or allegiance to Christ which leads to life.  Yes we can sin and sometimes, in our imperfection, we will.  It is just that truly born again people grow up and no longer want to.

And what about future sins that we might commit after we are saved because of our human weaknesses or failures?  May I ask, "How many sins that you have committed in your lifetime were future sins 2000 years ago when Jesus died for them?" 

By the grace of God, those are covered too.  The payment Jesus made on the cross was enough to cover the sins of the whole world.  All we have to do is ask for the pardon.  (Trust me you NEED the pardon.  You are as guilty as sin.  - And you know it.) 

Who created electricity?

Atheists think they really put creationist on the spot by asking, "Where did God come from?".  They often times put it this way, "If creation demands a creator, who created God?" 

My answer would be "I haven't got a clue."  It should be self-evident that the only way we can "know" anything outside of our ability to discover it through science is for God to tell us.  In this case He is silent.

Some will try to answer this question by saying that God is outside of our space time dimension and is therefore not constrained by the element of time thus allowing Him to be eternal.  I think that is a bit of speculation.  It could just as easily be that there was a God who created God; who created God; who created God etc. all the way back to eternity or even some other explanation entirely.  There is just no way to know.

On the other hand it is ridiculous for an atheist to reach the absurd and illogical conclusion that simply because a Christian cannot answer this question then God does not exist.

To put it another way ponder a hypothetical electric light in the ceiling over your head.  Electricity flows through a wire which causes the filament to glow and thus creates light.  The light is caused by an invisible thing we call the electron.  Where did the electrons come from?  Who made them?  Did they always exist?  If you think they were made by the power company then who made the power company?  Oh, you don't know?  Then I guess electricity does not exist.

Come on.  If that is your level of rational thinking, you probably also believe in macro evolution. 

Just like with God, we cannot see electrons but we can see results of their existence.  A single bolt of lightning can ruin your whole day.  Electricity powers machinery, televisions, computers, locomotives and more.  It is really powerful stuff.  But just like it is with God you need to have faith to believe that it exists.  Not blind faith, but intelligent faith based on observing the phenomena that we can see.  It is interesting to note that this invisible stuff can power the electric chair and heart-lung machines too.  One to administer justice and the other to sustain life.

Bring me an electron that we may examine it.

  -  Can God build a wall so tall that even He cannot climb over it?

It's a non-Christian religious practice where you attend group meetings for the sole purpose of getting yourself all bent out of shape.  More often it involves just sitting on your ass accomplishing nothing.  You close your eyes and empty your mind of all rational thought while repeating the same mindless words over and over.  All the while holding both hands in a gesture that juveniles use to indicate "Here's what you can do if you think I care!".

Identity theft

Today it is important for someone suspected of being an illegal aliens to prove that they are actually American citizens.  That will soon change.  After the rapture it will become necessary to prove that you are, in fact,  an Earthling.  I believe that the rapture will be explained away as an "invasion" from outer space.  The public will be told that millions of people have been abducted and hauled away to another planet/dimension etc.  The new fear will be that we have aliens living among us.  To prove that you are a real human you will have to be verified and pledge allegiance to the new world government.  The "seal of approval" will be a mark taken on the forehead or the back of your right hand.  You will not be allowed to buy or sell without it.  This will keep those pesky aliens from holding jobs or buying food.  Does that sound like the new law being implemented by the US government to thwart our current illegal alien problem?  They have deemed that illegal aliens are no longer allowed to hold jobs which means it will be real tough to buy, sell or eat.  Guess what?  They will turn to lives of crime overnight.

Back in the mid '70s I read the "back of the book" and discovered some of these things.  It seemed pretty far fetched at the time.  I wondered how anyone could enforce such buying and selling rules.  There was talk at the time about an eventual cashless society, but credit cards were not at all common place like they are today.  At the time computers cost millions and almost none of them could interface with any other brand.  You could not just jump online and fill your shopping cart with stuff that would arrive at your door in a few days.  (Imaging that!)  I knew things would change.  Computers would have to become cheap enough for every mom and pop business to have one.  They would have to be connected to some kind of network that would allow any computer to communicate with any other computer.  Need I say more?  Keep in mind that this is not just an American revolution.  Computers are being used everywhere, all over the world!

By the way this identity theft "crisis" is pushing us to invent a universal, fool proof means of identifying who someone really is.  The mark will probably be part of this system along with, possibly, biometrics.  But never forget that taking that mark will require pledging allegiance to the new world dictator aka the antichrist.  Once you do that your eternal fate will be sealed.  It will be impossible to ever be saved and Heaven will remain eternally out of reach to you.  Now you may say you would never take such a mark, but keep in mind:  hunger makes men do unbelievable things.

Oh really?

Then why is it that the name Allah never occurs in the Bible?  God allows himself (and it is always himself, never herself) to be called by many names.  Allah is not one of them.  Nor is it even possible that  they the same god.  Can you imagine changing John 3:16 to read:

If we have to change that much of the Biblical wording to make Allah equal to Jehovah, I really do not see how they could possibly be the same.

That can never be equal to:

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

P.S.  Did you ever consider that maybe God has given mankind this unsolvable crisis in the middle east to prove to us once and for all that man cannot run this planet without him?

If we could record all the information in all the books in all the libraries on Earth using DNA molecules the area occupied by that DNA would be about equal to 1% of the area found on the head of a pin.

A certain person stood before the great white throne judgment.  The judge said,  "Our records show that during your entire life on Earth the only sin you ever committed was to tell one little white lie.  We see no record of any other sins.  I don't think anyone has ever lived such a good life as this before!  He continued, "Unfortunately there is no record that you ever asked my son to forgive you even though you knew the wages of sin was death."  The accused was just about to interrupt and point out that they had never done anything really bad like killing someone, when the bailiff (placing his finger across his lips) indicated that it would be best to remain silent.  The judge continued, "It is the verdict of this court, because it was your first and only offense, that you will only have to stay in hell for one eternity."         

This is the second death.  The pardon was offered but never accepted.  Jesus wept.

A small clay jar arrived mysteriously at my door one day.  I wondered what might be in it.  Water?  Acid?  Sand?  Some unknown miracle elixir?  Blood?  A genie with three wishes to bestow?  Actually it does not matter.  The point is that the contents was what was the most intriguing and of potential value.  The jar was not.  It was just an inexpensive and yet suitable container for whatever was being delivered to me.  For example: think of a carton of milk; it is the milk that has value not the carton.  So why is it that a certain religion spends so much time venerating Mary?  They put her image on the Pope's goofy hat while portraying Jesus as still hanging shamefully on a cross.  Isn't that kind of like pouring out the milk and putting the carton up on your mantle?  Who in their right mind would pray to that?

Scientist: For centuries we believed the universe was eternal.  Many of us still do.

Me: But, didn't Einstein demonstrate that space and time had a finite beginning?

Isn't that why you guys came up with the "big bang" theory?

Scientist: I suppose it is.  So what's your point?

Me: Since it would be absurd to think that the universe created itself, it had to have been created by an intelligent Being with tremendous power who existed outside of time and space.  This One also, by necessity, had to have existed before hand.

Scientist:  Ok, wise guy, if that's true, then where did God come from?  Who made God!?

Me: God always existed and had no beginning.  He is outside of time.

Scientist: Oh ya?, everything has to have a beginning!

Me: Excuse me.  I thought you said you were quite comfortable believing the universe was eternal and had no creator.
